The Covenant Lessons

The Covenant Lessons are based upon the psychic information and spiritual insights contained in the Edgar Cayce readings. They were written by Dr. Herbert Bruce Puryear in an effort to provide an integrated spiritual philosophy covering a wide array of significant metaphysical topics. We encourage you to study these lessons as you build a foundation of understanding for your continued soul growth and development.

  1. If we will set our own ideal and be "single in eye" in our purposes; if we will turn within in the silence, maintaining a spirit of, "Be Thou the guide"; and if we place our trust fully in Him, we will be given the next step. Read more about Psychic Sources...

  2. We wonder most about ourselves. Why are we so imprisoned in the here and now in a universe so unimaginably immense? We wonder about our relationships to the people around us-near and far, small and great. We wonder, Why? Read more about Application and Attunement...

  3. The great manifestations of the universe are life and consciousness. The great mysteries of the universe are the continuity of life and our ever-expanding consciousness of God. Beyond the manifestations of life are intimations at every turn of its continuity. Read more about Reincarnation - The Continuity of Life...

  4. In these times, we are concerned about the motives of other nations and of our own nation; we are concerned about the motives of leaders and would-be leaders, of special interest groups. Read more about Spirit, Motivation, and Ideals...

  5. Most of the more than 14,000 Edgar Cayce readings were given at the request of individuals seeking aid. 6. The study from the human standpoint, of subconscious, subliminal, psychic, soul forces, is and should be the great study for the human family, for through self man will understand its Maker when it understands its relation to its Maker... 3744-4 Read more about A Model for Understanding the Nature of Man...

  7. Blessed is the man ... (whose) ... delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:1-2 Read more about Meditation...

  8. A major problem for all religions is the nature of the relationship between God and man. If God is Spirit, and man, as we know him, is of flesh, how can the one kind of stuff impinge on the other? Read more about The Body - Temple of the Living God...

  9. The spirit is the life, the mind is the builder, the physical is the result... This frequently reiterated formula from the Edgar Cayce readings may become trite from repetition; or as a basic premise, it may become a key to understanding some of the mysteries of the universe.
